EVENT REVIEWS

Event organisers had planned everything to the minutest of detail including the gear – hats, nutrition pack etc. It felt as if a lot of planning and research had gone into preparation for this event. It was one of the best Saturday mornings I have experienced.

The event exceeded my expectations – it was so well organised. We each received a goodie bag prior to the run and to top it off there was ice baths and a bbq afterwards. I would highly recommend Alpha Trail Events to anyone interested in trail running.

The experience started well with a little goodies pack! I really enjoyed the experience, the optional second lap was also great as it allowed for refuelling and deciding whether to do the longer distance. The bbq at the end was also great.

RAISING AWARENESS FOR ALPHA-1

A charity committed to supporting individuals grappling with Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency, a rare hereditary disorder.

The condition is characterised by low blood serum levels of an essential protein made in the liver, that protects lungs from progressive tissue destruction.

Although its prevalent among 1 in 9 Australians, it often remains undetected. Treatment is also very expensive (over $100,000 per year for life), making it financially unaffordable for many and leading to a reduced life expectancy.

Alpha-1 Org are the only active charity in Australia advocating for the condition. All donations will go towards supporting the charity in growing their footprint in Australia.
